Oklahoma, led by Doug Williams, wasted no time establishing control, as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Williams was in fine form, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns, with his most consistent target being Brian Hieme, who hauled in five receptions for 102 yards. The Outlaws’ offense controlled the clock, converting 11 of 19 third-down attempts and racking up 26 first downs, ensuring that New Orleans had limited opportunities to get back into the game.

The Brass managed to keep pace in the first quarter, with quarterback Rusty Hilger connecting on a 32-yard touchdown pass to Ricky Porter. However, that would be the only time New Orleans found the end zone. The rest of the game was a struggle for the Brass offense, which failed to capitalize on multiple red-zone opportunities, including two missed field goals. Hilger’s 318 passing yards weren’t enough to overcome the team’s lackluster ground game, which only produced 50 yards on 21 carries, and their inability to convert on third and fourth downs sealed their fate.

Oklahoma’s defense also played a crucial role in the victory, applying consistent pressure on Hilger and forcing the Brass into several mistakes. Jack Del Rio and Curtis Anderson each recorded a sack, while the Outlaws’ secondary held firm, despite Hilger’s yardage. The win moves Oklahoma to 1-3 on the season, while New Orleans remains winless at 0-4, continuing to search for answers as the season progresses.

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

In a dominating display, the Oklahoma Outlaws cruised to a 31-7 victory over the New Orleans Brass at the Superdome.
