Ham split time with Turk Schoenert, but looks to have won the job for next year with his performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Coach of the Year<\/strong><br><br>Walt Michaels, New Jersey Generals. Michaels led the generals to the best record in the league and a close loss in the semifinals. With Flutie and Walker back for another year, they look to make another push.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Defensive Rookie of the Year<\/strong><br><br>Al Noga, DE, Los Angeles Express. Noga recorded 113 tackles and 8 sacks in his first season He also got 19 hurries and 38 stuffs.<br><br><br><strong>Defensive Player of the Year<\/strong><br><br>Tony Gant, S, Michigan Panthers. Gant recorded 56 tackles, one sack, and 4 interceptions on the year to help the Panthers make the playoffs. He allowed only 40% completions on the year and was a true asset to the defense.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Comeback Player of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Young, QB, Los Angeles Express. After losing the starting job last year, Young came back to record 36 total touchdowns and lead the Express to the playoffs.<br><br><strong>Offensive Player of the Year<\/strong><br><br>Randall Cunningham, QB, Las Vegas Ace. Cunningham took over the league, completing almost 70% of his passes for over 400 yards and 48 touchdowns against only 16 interceptions.
