Oklahoma got their first win of the season, defeating San Antonio at home. Quarterback Doug Williams broke out in the game, throwing for 3 touchdowns. The defense forced 5 turnovers from the Gunslingers, including 3 interceptions by Rick Neuheisel.
Neuheisal, too, provided the only scoring for the San Antonio offense with a rush and a pass for a touchdown. The five turnovers proved costly for the Gunslingers as they outgained the Outlaws in the game. These games are all part of the growing experience of a new team.
